When I was young, I took photo after photo of my friends and family (in fact, I still have way too many boxes of photos from middle school and high school that desperately need to be gone through). I also wrote journal upon journal filled with my experience and insights, however silly or mundane they were (and I still do this!).

But why? Because life is so fleeting. Because if we’re not careful to savor each moment, we forget the details. Because I wanted evidence that I was here, living this life, with these people, in this place. This is why I do what I do here at Aly Jacobs Photography: capture your family’s precious and fleeting moments to help you celebrate and savor the gift of one another and this season of life. 

Photographing you and your family and offering you genuine, warm, and timeless photos that you can print out, hold, and savor brings me such great joy, because the memory of this season is worth preserving, however chaotic or mundane it might feel. If you’re anything like me, you have a million photos of your people stored on your smart phone, but not as many of you together with them, and certainly not as many that you would put on your wall!
